VFS Films

VFS FILMS is a Latvian production company established in 1997 and best known for its human interest documentaries, shorts and author-driven television docu-series. Most of our films have travelled around the world and many have received prestigious awards, such as Shanghai IFF Golden Goblet for “Bridges of Time”, Karlovy Vary IFF Crystal Globe for “Immortal”, Best Documentary award at Warsaw FF and Trieste FF for “Wonderful Losers”, IDFA Special Jury prize for “Ukrainian Sheriffs”, Best Documentary award at Latvia National Film Festival for “Liberation Day” and European Film Academy nomination for “Dream Land”. Four VFS co-productions have been selected as the official country entries for the Academy Awards Best Foreign Language Film category from Lithuania and Ukraine.
