Mark the Ham Florida Man

Dedicated to busting the many ham radio myths about antennas and transmission lines. These myths are so pervasive they have become conventional thinking among many radio operators, perhaps the majority. So I suppose these videos are unconventional thinking even though they are based on solid documentation like the "ARRL Antenna Book," the Reflections" books by Walt Maxwell W2DU and Kurt Sterba, author of "Kurt Speaks Out ," a compilation of columns appearing in WorldRadio 1999-2006.

I'm a retired radio and TV broadcaster and was also licensed to operate, repair and maintain commercial radio and TV equipment. I'm currently a volunteer fill in news broadcaster at the local NPR station. I have been a ham operator since 1965.
