Ballet Explained
Welcome to my channel! I'm an educator from New Zealand. I have always had a love for ballet, and have been studying it since my youth.
Understanding and appreciating ballet can pose a challenge, particularly for those not immersed in its cultural context from a young age, or without exposure to performances, or personal study. Unlike other forms of theatre, ballet lacks dialogue, relying instead on the music and physical movements of its performers to convey meaning. Therefore, familiarising oneself with the narrative of a ballet before or after attending a performance can enhance one's enjoyment of it.
From the stories behind iconic ballets like Swan Lake and Giselle, I try provide a simple to understand look at the art form. I hope this channel is useful for ballet enthusiasts, beginners, students and anyone interested in the performing arts.
