Academic Folk Choir & prof. Kostadin Buradzhiev
Academic Folk Choir® is the new choral formation of prof. Kostadin Buradzhiev.
The formation was established in October 2023. She is a continuer of the vocal and interpretive vision, style and manner of work during his 20-year leadership of the student folk choir at the AMDFA "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" – Plovdiv.
Academic Folk Choir® already has impressive performances in Bulgaria and abroad and a successful first recording session. The formation is made up of former students of the AMDFA "Prof. Asen Diamandiev", but with a much wider range of repertoire, including not only folklore, but also orthodox works by Bulgarian and Russian authors.
The work of Prof. Buradzhiev is associated with the ensemble "Dobrudja" - Dobrich, of which he is a long-time conductor and Chief Artistic Director, with the AMDFA "Prof. Asen Diamandiev", where he is a teacher of conducting folklore ensembles and is a conductor of the Academic Student Folk Choir, with which he gained world fame as a conductor.
