I am an artist and teacher living in San Francisco. Here you will find tutorials on the artistic process as taught from my own unique perspective. Making art is about living a full life. We make art to investigate the ineffable. We wrap and shape forms and colors and patterns around the feelings that we have for which no words quite express. Art is a spiritual practice. Our artworks, first and foremost, are offerings to a power beyond ourself as much as they are an expression of ourself. I'm interested in life drawing techniques only so far as they offer as a road to approach the subject matter that we gravitate towards - to help you get your bears or to push outside your comfort zone. Techniques are not a means to an end. Techniques are only a starting point.
