New Directions in Classics
New Directions in Classics is a public lecture series based in the Department of Classics at the University of Winnipeg. The series was founded in 2017 by Dr. Peter J. Miller and Ruth Dickinson (Hons. BA in Classics, 2018). Our series aims to demonstrate the vitality and longevity of the Classical tradition, the ongoing relevance of Classical Antiquity and its study to life in Winnipeg, Canada, and around the world. Furthermore, our goal is to highlight new methods, research questions, interpretations, and evidence.
In 2019-2020, we began live-streaming and recording our lectures. We encourage any non-profit public use of these videos, with the proviso that credit is given to the speaker and to New Directions in Classics. Copyright and all rights to the content of these videos remains with the speakers, each of whom has given permission to be live-streamed and recorded.
We hope with this series to encourage interest in Classics among academic and non-academic communities.
