I've been working in the field of lutherie since 2007 when I graduated from the Galloup School of Lutherie in Michigan. I remained at the Galloup school as an apprentice, assistant instructor and eventually the main instructor for just under 2 years. At that point I moved to Healdsburgh California for an opportunity to work side by side with the great and powerful archtop guitar maker Tom Ribbecke.
It was with Tom that I really found my passion for the archtop guitar and developed my skills to the point where I could function at a professional level in the trade of lutherie. I became Tom's shop foreman and rand his private shop for a number of years.
In 2013, after 6 years with Tom, I moved to western Pennsylvania to begin my own practice building and repairing instruments. After some time in the city I now build in a small shop on our family farm. These experiences have given me a unique perspective & set of skills which I'm now happy to share here on this channel.
