Erik Janssen

Erik Janssen (1966) studied music at the conservatory of Amsterdam, specialising in performance and conducting. During his time at the conservatory, he studied the trumpet under the guidance of Peter Masseurs, principal trumpet player of the Royal Concertgebouw orchestra and conducting with Danny Oosterman.

Erik was chosen as the 4barsrest band conductor of the year in 2016. He was the first foreign conductor to win the Grand Shield competition in blackpool in 2016. He is well known for his inspirational and positive approach, and musical performances. His international career gave him the opportunity to work with great bands as, Withburn band in Scotland, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band, Yorkshire, Paris Brassband in France, Manger Musikklag Norway, Jaren Hornmusikkforening Norway, Verao Amizade Portugal, Brassband Öberooosterreich in Austria, Ensemble de Cuivre Valaisan from Switserland, Woodfalls Brassband England.
