The Greater Pinelands Dulcimer Society (GPDS) club began over 40 years ago to promote the mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimers.
Club members and friends with different skill-levels (beginner, novice, intermediate and experienced) get together to practice or jam playing mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, and a wide variety of other acoustic instruments (fiddle, guitar, banjo, tin whistle, bass, ukulele, folk harp, recorder, harmonica, autoharp, etc.) in public and private regularly, practicing and playing Folk, Americana, British Isles and Old Time music.
All members of the club and friends that perform in public are volunteers that play at area venues to introduce the music and instruments to the public.
Players of all acoustic instruments and skill levels are welcomed to join us.
The Mountain Dulcimer is a relatively easy instrument to learn and can be played at advanced skill-levels.
