A very warm welcome to my channel ‘SettleCarlisle68', my upcoming videos will now focus on my new project build, a 00 gauge layout, named 'Ravenstonedale'.
After the dismantling of my N gauge layout 'Hellifield' back in mid-2024, I have finally made a start on my new 00 layout design. The layout along with the locomotives and rolling stock will be primarily based on the early BR steam era of the 1950's but I will also run some heritage trains. The layout plan comprises of a double track loop with a station, goods yard and a coal depot based upon the 'Ravenstonedale' station that was located on the 'Stainmore' railway. The scenic part of the layout will also feature a viaduct scene, all modelled on a permanent 2.7 x 1.6 metre L shaped baseboard. The stow away baseboards will provide me with a fiddle yard and will complete the double track loop.
My intention is to publish videos of the layout covering the design stage, base board construction, track laying and then onto the scenery.
