Grand Large Yachting Rally
In 2021, thanks to the famous sailor Jimmy Cornell, Grand Large Yachting launched its first rally, the World Odyssey 500, a round-the-world sailing trip in three years to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation by Magellan and Elcano. 32 boats left in September 2021, with owners Allures, Outremer, Garcia and RM representing 13 different nationalities.
Following the success of this first rally, Grand Large Yachting created the GLY Rally brand and launched a range of rallies at the same time.
The Nordic Odyssey 24 will see 12 boats setting off from the Canary Islands in December 2024 for the very first time. After a fairly peaceful start to the rally, the participants will head back up towards the north of Europe in the first days of spring: Scotland, Norway, Sweden before heading back down to Portugal.
The World Odyssey 25 will be the second edition of the round-the-world race in the trade winds. 40 to 45 boats should be at the departure in Sep 2025.
