Novo Nordisk Network for Healthy Populations
Established in 2021, the Novo Nordisk Network for Healthy Populations is a cross-disciplinary research network at the University of Toronto that aims to reduce the burden of diabetes and related chronic conditions.
The Network for Healthy Populations brings together such experts from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, and the University of Toronto Mississauga—where the Network is based. Working with regional community partners, these U of T researchers are creating locally relevant solutions that can help improve health outcomes for not just individuals but whole communities. This multidisciplinary, collaborative effort—which aims to become a globally renowned source of new knowledge— intends to address the root cause of diabetes, develop interventions, enable more early detection, ameliorate risk factors such as health access barriers, and close the gap in health outcomes for equity-deserving communities.
