The Karmanos Cancer Institute (KCI) Office of Community Outreach and Engagement was established in
2017. KCI COE's mission is to reduce the burden of cancer in KCI's 46-county catchment area (17 treatment locations in Michigan) by supporting academic-community partnerships, strategic research initiatives, and evidence-based strategies.
