Using a Dextrous Layout to prototype quickly

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this tutorial, I show you how to prototype a set of cards using a default Dextrous layout. Choose a Dextrous layout, make any adjustments needed, and then use the stock images to prototype a set of cards at speed. Please note the stock images in Dextrous are for personal prototyping use (non-commercial) only. You can upload your own images that you own when you're ready to go commericial. Why Layouts? We make layouts because we want to guarantee our cards all follow the same visual pattern (ie they're consistent), but also so that we can make sweeping changes across a whole deck really quickly. So if you decide to make a change and move the title position on your cards, youonly have to edit the layout (in ONE place), then all the cards will adjust accordingly. After watching this tutorial you should be able to make your own custom layout template, make a set of cards from the template in the component editor, and then export your set of cards to PDF for printing. 00:00 What is a layout? 00:40 Using a Dextrous default layout 01:16 Making changes to the layout 02:05 Using the layout in a project 03:39 Getting stock images (for personal use) 04:23 Using images in your cards 05:06 Multiple copies of cards 05:22 Exporting your cards (PDF, PNG, or online platform) Happy designing! -------------------------------------------------------------- Dextrous: https://www.dextrous.com.au/ Our Discord: https://discord.gg/FSeSCCk9u2 Dextrous is an online card game design tool for making board game components including cards, boards and tokens.
