In this video, I demonstrate folding a sock cuff by using a garter bar after knitting it on a double flatbed knitting machine. This method, when perfected, saves time from having to knit onto waste yarn and then having to pick up every stitch individually to place back upon the ribber. The garter bar enables us to move all the stitches at one time. Thanks to Diane Sullivan, from whose sock making DVD and book, "Knitting a Sock on the Standard Machine" I've learned this technique.* Many of you in the Facebook machine knitting group could not understand why I kept saying I was using a garter bar to make socks. Now you know why!
