アメリカ海軍の強襲揚陸艦ワスプ(LHD-1)が2018年1月14日、佐世保基地(長崎県)に到着しました。ワスプはアメリカ海兵隊のステルス戦闘機F-35Bを運用できるように改修が施されており、現在配備されているボノムリシャール(LHD-6)に代わってアメリカ第7艦隊の前方展開強襲揚陸艦としての任務を引き継ぎます。
U.S. Navy USS Wasp (LHD 1) arrives at Sasebo Naval Base, Japan, Jan. 14, 2018. The Wasp, capable of operating the U.S. Marine Corp’s F-35B Join Strike Fighter, will replace USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship in U.S. 7th Fleet.
