I woke up to my fridge running an error code. This specific code comes on when the fridge itself isn't getting enough power from the battery. My fridge will make this annoying noise and the cooling will shut off. Usually, the positive solar panel wire into my charge controller is a little loose. However, this time around my solar was still on just not working. I ended up wiggling and tightening all the wires that were in my charge controller. When I fixed the positive battery wire into my charge controller the solar started pulling in energy again.
I actually never have checked the battery wires into my charge controller because it usually is only the solar wires that I can clearly see need adjusting. I will say my Renogy charge controller is great I just really don't like the housing that the wires go into. Anyway, I did in fact order a second battery. I am exited but not ready to move some of my electrical around.
Since living in the van full time I have had many little hiccups. As annoying as they can be I am still grateful for the learning opportunity in all of it. Knowing I can fix anything in my van gives me comfort.
