This video will discuss vector spaces and subspaces in the context of the axioms that make up the definitions. Many standard examples of vector spaces will be provided, as well as a number of examples and non-examples of subspaces. The process for showing that a set is (or is not) a subspace will be illustrated, including such steps as the 0-vector check, closure under addition, and closure under scalar multiplication.
