Take a walk around James City Bruton Volunteer Fire Department’s Velocity Non Walk-In Heavy-Duty Rescue. This apparatus is replacing their current rescue in service, designed for structure fire support on the driver’s side and vehicle extrication on the passenger side. Every truck for the department is built the same when it comes to the chassis section, including the front bumper. As soon as you enter the truck, scene lighting comes on. Also added in the cab are vinyl seats to provide an easier wipe down after a call and a wraparound panel controlling items such as the PTO generator. In the rear of the cab, there is storage space for various rescue equipment, including a designated gasoline compartment for equipment such as chainsaws.
