"Archaeology of Venice: In Piazza San Marco, a burial site with at least 5 individuals related to the medieval church of San Geminiano has been discovered. However, a church with the same dedication was later rebuilt by Jacopo Sansovino in the 16th century, not far away. In pictorial views, it practically appears as a backdrop and connection between the Procuratie Vecchie and Nuove.
