An alien symboite crashes onto Earth and attacks everyone in its path. Meanwhile, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), a well-known investigative reporter is having some troubles at work when he is asked to report on an assignment he does not want to.

Failed reporter Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is in the wrong place at the wrong time when an alien symbiote (Tom Hardy) invades Earth and bonds to him. The alien begins having a soft spot for Earth and decides to help protect it from the other symbiotes.
