FINAL VERDICT - Big-time Thumbs-up On The Jones Bar:
I have taken the Priority 600 out for a number of rides under various conditions with the new Jones Bar and today’s ride was a culmination that covered them all… smooth asphalt roads, groomed gravel roads, and off-road sketchy fire roads (sand, mud, water, large rocks, and gravel). The Priority 600 is now married up to the Jones H-Bar and covered them well - even with 41mm road / light-trail tires.
Today’s ride was intended to provide an on-bike demonstration of the Priority 600 with its new Jones H Bar. So if you are interested in simply seeing the handlebar review, fast forward to about the 5 minute 25 second point and join me as I go over the Jones Bar and my configuration. You will see the various hand positions I use as well as the accoutrements I have attached to make up the bike’s new “cockpit.”
For those opting to view the entire video, the first portion has me riding to the Consumer Reports auto test facility via some very tough conditions on an unimproved gravel, mud, and sandy road… as well as avoiding a sun bathing snake. Following my final thoughts at the test facility I then ride through some beautiful well manicured gravel and paved country roads on my way back to the end point. We will even take a short walk in a quiet forest.
Please, if you are considering an alternative bar and still have questions after viewing this video, do not hesitate to ask.
Finally… as a disclaimer: I talk in glowing terms about the Priority 600 bike, the Ortlieb Handlebar Bag, and the Jones H-Bar. Please know that all items have been bought by me using my own funds; my channel has no sponsorships with any commercial businesses.
ENJOY THE RIDE
