When someone asks you about Vermont, normally, trains are not what come to mind because Vermont doesn't have that much to offer in terms of that category, but during the early 2000s, there was one specific train that stood out against the others and is something that hasn't been tried until then. The concept of "commuter rail" was a stranger to Vermont for decades, but in 2000, the state's shortline decided to try it out as an alternate way to travel, encouraging people to avoid busy highways. It did good for a start, but the government had to shut it down due to it being "not that viable". Ladies and gents, this is the complete story of Vermont's "Champlain Flyer" commuter rail - a little known attempt of commuter rail in the Northeastern US.
