Taehyung had been mentioning Hobi while he was in the military. Instead of promoting his solo activity, Taehyung couldn't stop thinking about Hobi.
Taehyung did something random and seemingly unimportant during Hobi's military send-off. While ARMY was busy smiling over Jimin and Jungkook's cute encounter, Taehyung sneaked a parting gift for Hobi. Some said it was a "secret" note, but I believe it was just a piece of paper, making it look unimportant. But what ARMY should focus on was not the paper, but Taehyung said.
That "Don't forget" from Taehyung tugged at my heartstrings so much. That's because Taehyung knew he couldn't forget about Hobi. Watch him insert Hobi's name during his final livestream with Namjoon, Jimin, and Jungkook before enlisting. Taehyung would find a way to fanboy over Hobi.
One of the episodes of the "Are You Sure?" mini-series reminds me of that moment. The scene started quite normal, just VMIN enjoying a nice car ride. Until Taehyung decided to play Hobi's "Arson." So what's the big deal, you ask? Well, Taehyung didn't know 99% of the lyrics, but he played it for a totally different reason, and Jimin eventually realized it. Yep. Taehyung played "Arson" not to perfectly sing along with it, but to give a shout-out to Hobi.
Taehyung clearly couldn't stop thinking about Hobi even if he was on a fun trip. This is why he hoped Hobi wouldn't forget about him too. The reality is that Taehyung shouldn't worry about Hobi forgetting about him. Remember when the Hope On The Street Pop-Up in SEOUL featured a replica of Hobi's studio? The detail was so on-point that it included something from Taehyung.
