Pharaoh enslaved the Israelites and refused to let them go. Jezebel promoted idolatry. Delilah betrayed Samson. Haman plotted to annihilate the Jews in Persia. Nebuchadnezzar exiled the Israelites and destroyed the Temple. Herod the Great ordered the massacre of infants in Bethlehem. Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness. Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus. These are just a few examples from a long list of antagonistic characters in scripture.
