Whether you call them vintage signs, rustic signs, antique signs or distressed signs, making new signs look old is actually a ton of fun. Farmhouse decor and vintage decor are currently on the rise. I have found it most useful in making props for theater and set dressing but lately it seems like a lot of home decor and interior design fits in this theme. Not to mention these signs sell fairly well at craft shows and are really quick and easy to make. Add to that the infinite colors and techniques you can use to make them, and you may never run out of ways in which to make signs. In this video I show how to make a rustic sign to celebrate some of the earliest settlements in my hometown of Green Bay. It has sort of an old west mercantile kind of vibe to it. For less than $5 in materials and I'd say 2 or 3 hours, you can have a finished piece. Less time if you were to make some stencils and batch out a half dozen or more.
