This was a first for me to go on a Steam charter in a first class coach with food, and to get my wife to come with me. We started from Tyseley at a very early time of 6:22 4E with 47773 The "Queen Mother" take us to Hellifield were the Jubilee class 45690 "Leander" would take over to Carlisle. We arrived only 6L at Carlisle after some great work from the crew up front after departing 17L from Appleby due to the water tanker arriving late. On the return 45690 came off at Carnforth with the class 47 took us back to Tyseley. I must thank Vintage Train for a great day and superb service from the staff.
