VLOG | January 2023 | Favourite books (6 inspiring reads for the flower lover) & winter garden tasks

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Happy New Year, YouTube Flower Friends! January, the coldest and most colourless of months here in the UK! As a seasonal business, this is our 'off-season'; the studio is closed; there is only the smallest smattering of flowers in the garden - dainty hellebores and pale lemon narcissus. As usual we have spent the weeks following Christmas working from home, planning our season ahead which kicks off in April. We have learned to love this time of the year for the time it gives us to reset, recharge, find inspiration and dream up ideas for upcoming creative projects. It is also a time when we love to walk, write and read - its a treat to finally tuck into the stack of books we have saved up throughout the rest of year when we don't have the time to properly concentrate on them! So this vlog is a slow, gentle easing into the year and we thought we'd share 6 of our favourite books for our fellow flower lovers out there. We hope that some of these recommendations will be new to you and that if you find the time to curl up with a book this winter that you enjoy them! *Correction - plant name at 03:54 is Cephalaria gigantea not Stipa gigantea! :) ________________________________________________________________________________________ IN THIS VIDEO - Scenes from crunchy walks in snowy Wales - The cutting garden in January - seed pods and washed-out grasses - Book chat: 6 of our favourites (all flower and garden related, of course!)
