Our first full day in the magic of Walt Disney World starts off in our one-bedroom preferred villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs, a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort hotel. We booked this stay using my DVC points. From there we wrap up warm and take the Disney Transport bus to the main entrance of Magic Kingdom. Upon arriving at the park, we notice a certain collection of decorations hasn't yet been taken down... no matter! We get started with the magic by enjoying a bit of the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet and strolling down Main Street U.S.A to catch the beginning of Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire.
We start at the back of the park by avoiding the crowds and beginning on the smaller and quieter attractions. There we enjoy walk-ons to Dumbo, Barnstormer and Under the Sea with the Little Mermaid. We utilise Disney's Lightning Lane systems to skip the 50 minute wait on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and enjoy a family-friendly roller coaster. We then get to enjoy other Fantasyland favourites, such as Peter Pan's Flight and It's A Small World, before we bump into Peter Pan and Wendy themselves!
After an early lunch at Columbia Harbour House, where we put one of my favourite budget saving tips to use, we ride The Haunted Mansion and then manage to catch a bit of the Main Street Philharmonic. It's then over to Frontierland to see the Country Bear Jamboree and ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure! There were both new to Gary, so he gives his thoughts and we enjoy his reactions.
Additionally whilst at Magic Kingdom we see the Festival of Fantasy Parade, where we spot some incredible characters, such as the Lost Boys (who give us some lovely interactions), Peter Pan, the Disney Princesses, Mickey, Minnie and all the gang! Special mention to Flynn Rider and his incredible smoulder. Before exiting the park, we hop over to Tom Sawyer's Island and ride Tron: Lightcycle Run. It's then back to Saratoga Springs for a little resort tour, where we get a quick service meal and tour the merchandise store at Artist's Pallet.
