When a mysterious creature who shares the ability of the Time Lords (to sense time as a dimension) appears, the Doctor, Romana and Adric are led to a space ship where many of its kind are held prisoner.
Once rulers, these creatures called Tharils are now kept in slavery as navigators for ships that travel in time - piloted by Tharils held captive. Will the Doctor and Romana aid them in their struggle to be free?
