Washing the chakin is an aspect of the thin tea ceremony that is performed in times of extreme heat. A flat tea bowl is filled with water and the chakin is left to flow without being folded to create a cool feeling.
It was created as a follow-up material for the members of the Homon Tea Ceremony Class for self-study and practice. The tea ceremony is performed in a slow and easy to understand manner. We plan to upload a version with a lecture at a later date.
