President Donald Trump signed several stacks of executive orders in the Oval Office on Monday, hours after he signed his first eight onstage at his inaugural celebration at Washington's Capital One Arena. The additional orders included pardoning around 1,500 people convicted of crimes committed on Jan. 6, 2021, beginning the process of withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization, ending automatic citizenship for people born in the country and keeping TikTok operational for another 75 days. Trump’s inauguration ceremony, including the swearings-in, took place indoors this year, a last-minute change to the pomp and circumstance due to extreme cold forecasted for the nation’s capital. As Trump returns to the White House for a second term, he’s expected to act quickly on his campaign promises and roll back more of his predecessor’s policies. His party controls both chambers of Congress and conservative justices have a majority on the Supreme Court. Trump is only the second president to return to office in non-consecutive terms, the only president convicted of a felony and the oldest person to win election to the White House.
