As the warm afternoon sun settles over the bush, the elephants head to the waterhole for some much-loved swim and dust bath time. While the younger elephants stick close to matriarch Tokwe and dominant bull Sebakwe, Somopane enjoys a peaceful moment close to Adine, soaking in his solitude before joining the others.
Khanyisa, full of energy as always, climbs onto her big sister Timisa before dashing after Sebakwe to join him in his dust bath. She adds her own twist, flopping onto her side as the sand covers one half of her body while the older elephants throw dust on the other.
Sebakwe is calm and content during his dust bath, though he’s known to get playful in the water. After a long soak, Somopane steps out to enjoy a dust bath too, protecting his skin and enjoying the moment alongside the herd. Their bonds and little habits make every visit to the waterhole a joy.
