We are spending some time apart after one year of full time van life in Japan. Over the last 12 months, we have spent 24/7 together living in our camper van in Japan while enjoying our van life road trip. Being a full time van lifer in Japan is amazing but occasionally it can get too much so it’s nice to have our own space sometimes.
We have spent the last 2 months in Okinawa, Japan and in this Okinawa travel video, we are on Iriomote Island, located in southern Okinawa and part of the Yaeyama Island group. Iriomote jima has many beautiful Okinawa beaches and is 90% rainforest and mangrove forests. While working on our camper van conversion in Japan, we were always dreaming of visiting beautiful places like Iriomote Island.
Converting a camper van in Japan and travelling Japan by van has been a wonderful way to explore hidden Japan. Our camper van trip in Japan has enabled us to get off the beaten path in Japan and make unforgettable memories along the way.
