This industrial stairs project actually saved us thousands of dollars. Because we built it ourselves from start to finish.
We wanted a minimalist floating staircase in our home, but it had to be strong and reliable. That's why we chose steel and solid oak as materials.
The load-bearing part of the staircase consists of two stringers, which we made from a steel profile pipe. This steel pipe repeats the step-by-step structure of the steps, which gives the entire staircase an amazing lightness in design. We connected two steel stringers with a frame made of a smaller section profile pipe, and this frame hides the wooden steps underneath.
When installing solid oak steps, we used a construction trick: we put strips of cork under each step, and put rubber pads under the fixing screws. This significantly improved sound insulation and completely eliminated any possible creaking of the steps.
The railings for the ladder are vertical pipes, which are part of a massive TV stand. We also made this TV stand in an industrial style. You can watch a more detailed video about all the tricks of making a TV stand here: https://youtu.be/0GDMG3ifkug
Although such a ladder looks simple, it still requires basic skills in metalworking, welding and woodworking. But I think that any DIYer will be able to make such a ladder.

It turned out pretty good, what do you think?
