How long should I age my deer? What's the best way to age my deer? In this video, The Bearded Butchers answer these questions, along with the ultimate question: "Does aging your deer really matter?", with shocking results! In order to get these answers, they take a fresh deer carcass and butcher pieces of the venison loin after 1 day, 1 week, 3 weeks, and finally 6 weeks, for a total of 42 days of dry-aging. Each piece of loin is carefully sealed and flash frozen, awaiting the taste test day. When the taste test date arrives, the pieces are grilled over an open wood fire to the perfect internal temperature, with no seasoning—to ensure accurate results, which are COMPELLING.
