When I was running my Curse of Strahd game, I needed an insanity system to use, a way for D&D characters to slowly descend into madness, gaining progressively negative effects as they became more and more insane. However, the core Dungeons & Dragons insanity rules and madness tables were either too trivial or too heavy-handed. So, my team and I created our own insanity system for D&D 5e. In this video, I discuss the problems with the current D&D madness rules, and how my team and I fixed them, creating our new Insanity System for dungeon masters.
