First Ice Ontario Fishing GIANT Splake Trout 2023-2024
In the newest episode of The Average Joes Fishing Show, your buddies Brendan and Lyle ventured into the Mountains of the Ottawa Valley in search of some early first ice. After lake option 1 didn't pan out, option 2 was where the lads headed. Once the grueling climb to the lake was complete, the setup began and the fish were very cooperative. Between 7am-12pm, 18 fish were welcomed to the top of the ice. The trip was highlighted by a beautiful holdover Male Splake that was 24"x13" in size. (A little over 5lbs). It was a beautiful day to get out and scratch that first ice itch we have all been feeling now that the cold weather is here and the fluffy white stuff is starting to accumulate on the ground.
