In this video we go on a two day hike in Phu Kradueng - Thailand’s most popular national park that most travellers haven’t heard of. Phu Kradueng National Park is located in Isan and hiking here is a very popular weekend activity, especially for Thai tourists. This national park is not very well known with foreign tourists and as we were travelling in Isan we wanted to check out this park ourselves! The main things to see in Phu Kradueng are located on a mountain, so visitors first have to hike up 3-5 hours before getting to the plateau. This also means that you will have to spend a night on top of the mountain, as you otherwise won’t have enough time to see the cliffs, waterfalls and nature in the park. You can either book a bungalow, which you can do online, but it’s a complicated process. The alternative is to rent a tent and sleep on the large campgrounds, which is what we did. The hike up was more exhausting than expected and once we arrived at the top we were super hungry. So we rented our tent and got a well deserved dinner. We rented the large tent for 4 people, as this gives you way more space. We also rented two sleeping mats each, as we read that tip online and we can definitely recommend this! The sleeping mats are very thin, so having two on top of each other will make sleeping on the ground a bit softer. The next day we went on a slightly disappointing sunrise hike, as it was very cloudy and we couldn’t see much. But we then rented mountain bikes and explored the national park, which was super nice. Unfortunately the waterfalls at Phu Kradueng didn’t have any water, as we were there during dry season, but the cliff viewpoints were also great.
