Weathering a Diesel Locomotive - Yorkshire Dales Model Railway

I’m weathering my Class 27 today. I used only three colours for this, all from the Railmatch range. - Roof Dirt (for the.... you guessed it... roof) - Weathered Black for the body - Frame Dirt for the underframes and bogies Each is thinned with a little Railmatch Acrylic Thinners. A lot of people seem reluctant to take the plunge and use an airbrush on their locos, but you can’t go wrong with a simple method like this. Once the body is masked, it’s just a mater of pointing and spraying. You literally cannot mess this up. With the windows covered with a bit of blue tack, it’s the same again - point and spray, It doesn’t matter where it goes! Exact same for the underframe. Quick blast along the bottom. 3 colours. 10 minute job. Looks great. The airbrush is a dual action compression airbrush, available as a complete kit for £75 from everythingairbrush.com. Considering using the likes of TMC or Grimey Times to weather your stock is £30+ a loco, buying your own is a no brainer in my opinion. As always, thanks for watching.
