In this video I portray my fascination of backstrap weaving. The video was shot in the Northernmost part of Swedish Lappland, 250 kilometers north of the Arctic circle. Enjoy the scenery, the natural materials and ancient textile tools.
I learned backstrap weaving from the book Secrets of Spinning, Weaving, and Knitting in the Peruvian Highlands by Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez. I also learned from online courses by Kimberly Hamill and Laverne Waddington.
