The debacle of the golden calf was a result of Israel temporarily losing heart, but the building of the Tabernacle was a case of Israel literally pulling itself up by its own boot-strings and reapplying the efforts and intentions of their hearts towards making G-d's dream of a dwelling place among His people come true. The building of the Tabernacle was a true work of heart.
