The world can be a lonely place, but Gordon Strain shares his personal experience on how art helps people to connect and how art can be used to overcome depression and PTSD. With an abundance of humor, Gordon presents pieces of art from his Diminutive Man series, which helps us all to understand our relative size/scale in this very large world.
Gordon Strain is Associate Professor and Chair of Theater at Franklin College in Franklin, IN. Gordon received his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Ithaca College as well as his Masters of Fine Arts in Scenic Design at Indiana University. In addition to his artistic and academic work at Franklin, Gordon creates designs for theaters and produces art in all sizes, shapes, and forms. He has been awarded the Creative Arts Renewal Fellowship from the Indianapolis Arts Council and has worked as a set designer for Spaeth Design in New York City. He currently is working on his own art project titled, "The Diminutive Man" which consists of paintings, sculptures, and photographs.
