What is Sinusitis
Sinusitis is one of the most common ENT problem faced in men and women which is the inflammation of air-filled cavities present around the nose and in the face called paranasal sinuses
How to detect:
patients will have classical symptoms like the recurrent problem of cold, associated with facial pain, headache, nasal block &nasal allergies and sometimes cough, recurrent throat pains, decreased smell sensation.
Solution:
usually treated by medicines, but in case of recurrent problems, surgery is needed. Sinusitis is a fairly common pathology that affects the how spaces in the bones of the face. These are interconnected with the nasal cavity. So a result of which the airflow in the nose has a direct bearing on the heath of the sinuses. For example, if there is a difficulty in normal airflow n because of a deviated septum, increased size of the tissue, reduced air space, then the quality of the sinus air alters. The causes may be varied. The deviated nasal septum, that alters the airflow is one of the major causes. Having said that recurrent allergies can also predispose to sinusitis. When there is suspicion of sinusitis, diagnosing that will require you to do basic investigations, maybe endoscopy, maybe radiography of a type and ten decide wheat wile b the treatment the first line of the act will be you will be put on medication for 7 to 14 days if required to alleviate the infection and symptoms. A recurrent follow-up is required to prevent a recurrence.
