Overlord Season 1: Episode 1: End and Beginning
In the first episode of Overlord, titled “End and Beginning,” Momonga, the leader of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown, remains logged into the virtual reality MMORPG Yggdrasil as its servers are scheduled to shut down. However, when the shutdown time passes, he discovers that he is unable to log out, and the game’s non-player characters (NPCs) have developed consciousness and personalities. Assuming the identity of his in-game avatar, the powerful undead overlord Ainz Ooal Gown, he begins to explore this new reality, seeking to understand what has happened and how to navigate this unfamiliar world.
