In April 1945 during World War 2, Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp was liberated by the British and Canadian forces. But amongst the terror and horror that greeted them were many female guards who had worked at Belsen. These women experienced varying fates after they were forced to bury 13,000 corpses which were lying all around the camp. 3 women were executed, but many more experienced prison sentences.
