Giving Naruto and Sasuke the Six Paths out of the gate feels like one of the best scenarios I’ve gotten to work with in a while. Not only do I get to experiment with their abilities, but I also get to experiment with Sakura as well. When you realize how much she really could bring to the table, a simple tweaking of character suddenly makes her a likable and important protag. When she was in the Fourth Shinobi World War, and standing there between Six Paths Sage Mode Naruto and Rinnegan Sasuke, she said how she finally feels at their level again. I remember that because I laughed at it. But the more I think about it, she very much could have been. With increased strength of her own (and her strength was already considerable already), as well as basically immortality from Creation Rebirth, she really did have considerable powers. We just don’t generally expect anything from her. So changing that alone has led to her being my favorite out of this story. Yeah, I know. A story about Sasuke and Naruto having the Rinnegan, and I’ve chosen Sakura of all characters as my favorite? It’s because I know she has potential, and her buff for this story is the thing she should have had all along: actually using her power. The moment you realize that the reason Sakura is unlikable in the original series is because Kishimoto had to nerf her. Well, now that everyone else in her team is OP, it’s time for us to make Sakura OP too by simply letting her be her. I hope you join me as I continue to tell this tale.
