Sometimes I see comments on youtube or reddit that say something along the lines of “we live in a cyberpunk world just without the punk, the flashy neon and the cool cybernetic enhancements.”
There is this implicit notion that corpos BAD but cybernetic body modification. Well. Hey. That’s kinda cool. And I get it. Who wouldn't want to have gorilla arms strong enough to lift a car, eyes that could see in the dark and legs that could jump onto the roof of a house. It is sometimes said that nothing in this world is free. So what could be the less obvious costs of a future where we augment our bodies to the extent we see in cyberpunk? Today I want to explore what this futuristic technology might look like when brought into our world.
