Knowing what a research paradigm is - that's important. But, knowing where and how to write about it in your thesis is also crucial!
Often, students wait until the methods section to write about their paradigm, and perhaps dedicate a few sentences to it. All the while, feeling uncertain and not writing particularly confidently!
Paradigms can seem difficult to get your head around as a research student. They feel too philosophical, too abstract, and you struggle to see how they relate to your real-world research.
As such, they can often feel like an afterthought when it comes to writing up your research.
However, your paradigm is super important! It determines a lot about your research: from what questions you set out to answer, to how you make sense of your findings.
So, this video is all about helping you get more confident with paradigms, both in terms of understanding what they are, and also how and where to write about them. The video also includes template example sentences you can adapt for the different chapters of your own thesis.
