In this lesson, you will learn what an integer is, why integers are important, and what we use integers for in Math. An integer is the set of positive and negative whole numbers. Where a positive integer represents how much of something you have, a negative integer represents how much of something you owe someone else. It represents how far below zero you are. We use negative numbers in temperature below zero, debts in money, and many other applications.
